Welcome to Aviation Vision Services - Looking after the eyes of Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers

Aviation Vision Services provides guidance on aviation vision standards to pilots, Aviation Medical Examiners (AMEs), pilot and air traffic controller applicants. If you are uncertain whether you or your pilot applicant is eligible for medical certification, then you have come to the right place.

Aviation Vision Services is based in the UK and is founded and run by Dr Adrian Chorley. Adrian has over 17 years’ experience as Optometrist Principal in the Medical Department at the UK Civil Aviation Authority and has extensive experience in aviation medicine including conducting clinical eye examinations on pilots, directing vision standards at a European level, formulating CAA visual guidance material and advising pilot applicants and AME with vision enquiries.  More information can be found in ‘About us’.

If you need comprehensive eye examination to CAA requirements or uncertain whether you will meet initial Class 1, 2 or 3 vision standards, Aviation Vision Services offers clinical eye examinations (see Services for further information).  Additionally, also available are specialised colour vision assessments and post refractive surgery assessments to CAA requirements.

If you are an organisation designing vision standards for other occupations or wishing to have clinical eye examinations conducted to your standards, please contact us for further information.
